    Bulgaria Holidays – Turnovo

    February 20th, 2010 by admin

Turnovo was a Bulgarian capitol in the twelfth to the fourteenth century.  It was a major political, economic and cultural center of the nation.  At present you can find palaces, monasteries and churches dating to the twelfth to the fourteenth century.  You can also discover two forts which were used to defend the city from the Turks, Mongols and other enemies.  These forts are especially fascinating as you visit Turnovo on your bulgaria holidays.  Children can learn much history from visiting these places and it will come to life.  History will no longer be such a boring class in school. They will love it.
