Flooding Problem

Last year, my cellar flooded when we had a week of non-stop rain. My sump pump did not work. I was afraid to go down in the basement because I did not want to get electrocuted. Besides that, I know nothing about sump pumps. I got my cousin to come over with his flashlight and he went down there. He told me sump pump float switches are usually the first thing to go. He went to the hardware store and bought two of them, just in case it ever happens again. He fixed it for me and the water was pumped out within a few hours.
