SIPPs are HMRC registered pension schemes. They are authorized and regulated but the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom so there is some trust there too. Not every provider is the same and SIPPs can be risky. Some SIPP investments will make you a lot of money. Others will make you none. One of the best parts about a SIPP is that you can combine your other pensions (from an employer and the government) into one new pension. This means you can put all of your pension into a single investment. This will of course increase your risk but it also increases the chance of making you a significant amount of money for your retirement.
